[intro] Just in time!

shanaqui posted about this community just in time, I'd say. I was just starting to pull my head back out of the morass of what Life has been throwing at me, and buckle down into my writing again. So I'd like to say hello, and thanks to shanaqui for helping to ensure I'll get back on track.

Favourite writing tool: My computer. Pen/Pencil + paper just doesn't keep up as well.

Main fandoms: This is often changing, but my current main fandoms are Hey Arnold, Mass Effect (and 2), Weiß Kreuz, Gundam Wing, Ouran High School Host Club, and the Lincoln Rhyme series. There are definitely others.

- From Weiß Kreuz: (characters) Aya (Ran) Fujimiya, Nagi Naoe | (pairings) I don't really have an otp for this series.

I'd like to point out that I prefer to have a pretty open mind when it comes to pairings, and while the ones above are my definite favorites, I've found that a good author or artist can make me consider pairings I never really had before.

I like trying writing challenges, though I don't always finish them. I'm hoping that this community will give me a chance to finish them properly. I have a couple of promised-out fics still to do, as well as working on scifibigbang and overlooked, and I've recently created the writing challenge community 3x3, though I don't yet have a claim into it. I want to get some of my other things finished off before I work on it.

Well, to be fair, I'm not active in many of the fandom communities that I listed. But GW was one of the first anime fandoms I got really active in, and it's remained a writing standby for me.

I've had that happen to me as well. Pairings I never thought I've read and in fandoms I'd never even glanced at, always catch my attention when well written or well done.

Yes, exactly. And sometimes, it can get so frustrating because they are pairings that other people don't necessarily look at, and I find myself suddenly convinced that I want to read MORE.

YES, exactly that! For example - and omg i cannot believe i'm about to admit this - but a friend of mine had me beta a story for her. It was a Jonas brothers slash fic. And I said, sure, no problem! And well - for a couple days there all I did was read JoBros fic >_> My other friends were all like OMGNOOO/o\

Haha, at least you could find them, right? It's so much worse when you're suddenly into a pairing, and you've read the only two fics ever written for it.

Actually - I couldn't, since I didn't know where to go. And the few comms I found - well - eh. I did find one that was really good and it was an au and long and it left me wanting more. *pouts*

But yeah - um, that sucks about not finding any. :p

Ah yes. The downside of fanfiction is that it's not always... what you want.

Of course, for us writers, if we can't find it, at least we can write it, yes?

Yes, and that's one of my main problems. I can't find it so I get the idea and well...yeah. >_>
